In collaboration with Yoshii Gallery (New York) and Galerie Enrico Navarra, Galerie 75 Faubourg presents an exhibition dedicated to Japanese artist Makoto Ofune, featuring a selection of recent paintings and sculptures.

J’ai poursuivi les moyens de communiquer avec un lieu qui n’est pas « ici et maintenant ».
À travers de longs et anciens souvenirs que possèdent les pierres et les pigments, à travers les sensations d’interpénétration avec des distances lointaines face aux paysages, et à travers les perceptions des vents et des environnements alentour.
La météorite présente là révélerait la connexion avec un espace-temps bien au-delà de l’imagination.
Tout comme nos vies intérieures sont toujours empreintes de souvenirs du passé et de pensées pour l’avenir, chaque réalité qui existe ici et maintenant est connectée d’une certaine manière à l’éternité.
Ce fait ramène simultanément la réalisation de notre existence «ici et maintenant », puis fait naître le sentiment de l’éphémérité.

Makoto Ofune développe une œuvre empreinte de silence, de lenteur et de contemplation. Travaillant avec des poudres de pigments minéraux qu’il applique sur papier de chanvre japonais, pierre ou cristaux, il compose des surfaces sensibles où le geste répété devient une forme de méditation. À travers cette pratique, il interroge les liens subtils entre l’éphémère et l’éternité, le visible et l’invisible, la matière et le souffle.
Ses œuvres, à la fois fragiles et puissantes, incarnent une quête de résonance avec les rythmes profonds de la nature. Elles traduisent une expérience sensorielle essentielle, dans laquelle la perception intime rejoint une vision cosmique du monde. Sa palette, tout en nuances et en retenue, évoque une forme d’ascèse visuelle en harmonie avec l’esthétique et la pensée zen.
